For all those who create on small screens and inside smaller cameras and rely on a gigantic leap of faith that their image will be what they imagined or thought they saw – I have discovered a wonderful printer who sees beyond digital algorithms and has a sure intuition for the birth moment of an image, when it is finally able to become the very best of what it was always meant to be. I’ve done a dozen large prints in the 36 or 40 inch range for the new Hathaway/David gallery in Atlanta, Georgia, and have returned to the drawing board to work on new images with confidence knowing what I’m eking out in this pixillated jungle will be brought into the world of paper and canvas and glass and wood with integrity and care. One of the many texts reads: “Beijing very cold, big wind and the river become with ice the snow still on the ground when I go out, always to think of your legs, imagine the legs may have the thrilling inside, the only one trousers, how pity of them”.
