I realize that doctors know only a little more than the rest of us, and quite possibly less than a small animal in the woods who knows when it is time to curl up beneath a tree and go into a final sleep. That the numbers and needles and lasers and bedpans and trials and studies and inoculations and measurable outcomes and targeted therapies are as meaningless in the moment as the night wind that stirs in the trees above where the tiny animal sleeps. They don’t know but they are trying to know; and just as it is the fate of a victim to die it is the fate of mankind to try to know, to penetrate ignorance and superstition and push back fate and shape destiny. As such disease is a formidable opponent, an intractable enemy, a challenge as broad and vast as the mystery of life itself. . .
Sorry for the murky details, this is a very large piece at 50 X 78 and difficult to post on a small screen - but It sits at the end of my studio and wants to take its jurney into the internet. and who am I to deny.

assemble,and layer, fine tune elements,add hand details,scan into computer finish in PS . add thin layer of cold way, buffed with steep wool, print size in 50 X 78
