The morning mist hung heavily in the valleys of Streymoy, the largest island of the Faroe Islands. Amid the desolate landscape, where the soft moss stretched like a carpet over the mountains, stood a solitary church. Its white spire stood out against the dramatic, dark cliffs that enclosed the area like protective giants.
