Celluloid Silence II

Parallel to my digital frames I shot a decent amount of 120 film during my trip to the Isle of Lewis & Harris in Scotland. My go-to film usually is black & white negative and in particular Ilford's Delta 100. I noticed, however, that the subtle colors of Lewis & Harris can benefit from the the same subtle colors that Kodak's Portra 160 offers, so I tried a couple of rolls out. I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised. I had to reduce some of the colors, especially the blues, when taking long exposures, but overall I am quite pleased with the results.

Taken on the Isle of Harris in the autumn of 2024, using my Hasselblad and Kodak Portra 160 film.

Hasselblad 500C with Distagon 1:4 50mm lens, Kodak Portra 160 film, ND grad filter, ND 10 stops filter, tripod, cable release.

Shot on Kodak Portra 160 film with my Hasselblad 500C and Distagon 50mm lens. I used ND filters (grad and 10 stops) to smooth out the choppy water surface and moving clouds. Negative was developed by a professional photolab and then digitalized by myself, using my DSLR. Further post-processing was done in Lightroom and Photoshop.
