Photography is a technique, including processes and materials, that consists in fixing or reproducing over time accurate images of the real world on a photosensitive medium (silver photosensitive chemical with film or paper, digital sensor) by exposure to visible or non-visible light, such as infrared.

Digital photography designates all the techniques used to obtain a photograph through the use of an electronic sensor (CCD, CMOS) as a photosensitive surface, composed of pixels, as well as digital image processing techniques improving the visual rendering by signal correction and other types of filtering.
