When and how do you start to create?
I first began taking photography seriously in 2007. In 2009 I began experimenting with long exposures, which are still primarily what I am interested in. But in recent months I have been also experimenting with infrared photography.
What are your favourite subject(s)?
The sea, architecture and landscape.
How do you prepare a creation or project work?
I use Photoshop and Nik filters to dodge and burn my images.
What are your prefered moment(s) when you create?
I prefer bad weather. The gloomier and cloudier the better. I usually go out to take photographs in the hours before, during and right after sunset. If I can wake up in time, I also like working in the sunrise hours.
What are you trying to share via your art?
Silence and solitude ... its melancholy, contemplation, beauty, and necessity.
Who are artists that fascinate or give you inspiration? (links)
My main influence comes from Michael Kenna's work, who I often turn to for inspiration, but I always make sure that I never try to copy his style/approach. I also find a lot of inspiration in painters (Caspar David Friedrich, Edward Hopper, Pissarro, and others) and poets.
What equipment and/or technic do you use?
I am currently using a Sony SLT99, an infrared converted Sony Alpha 700 and some Lee NDs and Grads.
What are you expecting from Art Limited and/or other members?
While I enjoy sharing my images, I joined Art Limited to enjoy, learn from, and be inspired by the work of others.
