Penwith in Cornwall has the highest concentration of prehistoric monuments in England. Most of them stand in remote places high on the open moors.

This is what remains of a burial site dating from 5 - 6,000 years ago. The covering earth mound has long since gone leaving the chamber stones exposed.

The cap stone is around 2m high & weighs about 13.7 metric tons.

It may just be a pile of stones but still they are places of mystery & wonder.
