The Slinkee is an old fashioned but much loved toy. That's why I shot it in black and white monochrome. Black and white film is very hyper-real in digital because it's a modern form of photography emulating an old one. Just like the Slinkee, which hasn't changed since the 1950s. They're still easily tangled and my Slinkee is still bent a bit from when I was a younger man, but I guess what would the Slinkee be if people still didn't remember that damn commercial: "Everyone Wants A Slinkee"? The toy is equally remembered as a proto-internet meme as it is for toy lore of being easily tangled or its ability to go down stairs. In any case it needs to be preserved. The Slinkee itself is a work of brilliant art design - its simplicity is very industrial but loveable and human.
