Beate Letschert Most inviting. Spending silence, rest, peace, endless space ... Nothing disturbing. Excellent image, Roberto, with hundreds nuances of black and white.

Jos Letschert Roberto, your are meeting the limits of photography, or, you are moving between the borders of photography and philosophy. Your echoes can only be heard in the twilight area of the inapparently, in the dawn of destiny.

Roberto De Mitri Ms. Beate... :) ... Not the water of the sea or the air of the sky, but an eternal silence, a surreal stillness, a subtle feeling of melancholy, I think, they are the main elements that make up and draw this landscape. There is nothing of disturbing, yes. But I don't know if this kind of peace is the kind of feeling that warms and soothes the heart or is it more like an empty resignation...
and thank you very much for the nice comment... :)

M W Oh my... I can't even find proper words to comment it.
All what I can say for this moment that I wish I could have such an image on the whole wall at home.
28 Aug 2017 at 01:50pm
M W Coming back to the past dialogues, this reflects a perfect balanse of the psyche. Mild and not intense collision of light with darkness into grey tones, with more light existing than darkness. Ideal state of mind, not stirred up by anything.

Roberto De Mitri thank you very much, Ms. Alexandra Maria... :) ... very kind! :)

Roberto De Mitri well Jos... :) ... I would like to say that I "would like" to push the photographic medium to the limit of its communicative possibilities, so that it can become philosophical “manifesto” in itself. Give emotional and expressive content to the image. Transcending the real and reaching the essence of everything... But the truth is that you also have to hope to find those environmental conditions so that you can get a similar result.
So it is always a great joy for me, and I always get great satisfaction, from taking pictures at a stormy sea. Perhaps with strong wind and waves. And maybe a slight fog. And the sky flat and grey.
So yes. This is another landscape of the soul.
An allegory of a mood.
The mirror of an existential condition.
A condition similar to a limbo. A dimension suspended in a memory which is distant, lost and indefinable, preserved in the soul. A memory without time, but still the memory of a mirage. Of an illusion…
and thank you very much, as always, for the beautiful comment! :)

Roberto De Mitri Henri... :) ... good question. but I can not answer with accurate data. The camera is mechanical and I do not have a meter to measure the light. And consequently, everything is done in a very intuitive way. The film is a Foma 200 and this is the only thing that I know...
That day was cloudy and there was no direct sunlight. But, anyway, I think the image is slightly overexposed. Although I hardly get to 5 minutes. So I think less than 5 minutes.
I'm sorry if I can not be more precise... :)

Roberto De Mitri Claude... :) ... And this crying is lost in the mute echo of the silence... A crying that is lost in the void...
and thank you very much for the kind comment! :)

Roberto De Mitri Maria... :) ... indeed, light and darkness they do not collide, but come together in an endless indefinable and changeable shade of gray.
But perhaps they do not melt. It seems to me that light covers the darkness. But it does not disappear. In some way, it is still latent and present under the white of the sea. This landscape seems almost a prelude. It reflects a condition of the soul. But it also reflects what the future will hold for us. An indecipherable future.
like being in front of the inevitable, but indefinable future...
and well... :) ... if you want to know... this photo is on the desktop, is the wallpaper of my home computer and it is even on the computer at work... :)
and thank you very much for the lovely words and the beautiful comment... :)

Dana Winkelman Roberto. I am with M.W., nearly speechless and wishing this was on my wall (with the others). It is transcendent and compresses the medium into its essential elements. These are the best long exposures (and landscapes) on the site and maybe just about anywhere. All the best. Dana...
29 Aug 2017 at 08:03pm
Roberto De Mitri I am with M.W. too... :) ... and, as I said... maybe this photo is not present on the wall of my house. But it is the wallpaper on the monitors of both of my computers. At home and at work... :)
Is a beautiful landscape. Ethereal and evocative. And a good LE...
I had this photo in the "drawer" since 2014. and I found the right solution only in these days, to give to this landscape the look it presents. Maybe because I did not have the right inspiration to work on this photo before? I do not know. But I know that in the end the result is satisfactory. A transcendental landscape and a place of the soul.
and, as always, thank you very much, Dana, for the nice comment and the lovely words... :)

Roberto De Mitri Shaun... :)
