Caravaggio is one of my favourites Great Masters of painting. In 2010 I visited "the Caravaggio 400th Anniversary Exhibition" at the Scuderie del Quirinale (Rome) where I had the chance to discover his "Saint John the Baptist in the Wilderness" (1604-05), coming from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City. I love all his paintings about St. John, specially St. John the Baptist 1 and this other. So I began to work on this academic work like a painting.
I found the right model in Torino (Italy), a great painter friend of mine: Andrea Aste. I explained to him about my idea and he acepted to pose for me (for the first time).
