Image description
Modern society tends to shy away from thoughts of death, viewing them as depressing and morbid. We are often captivated by the illusion that we can remain young forever and that life will continue endlessly.
In contrast, people from antiquity until the early 20th century regarded death not as a source of distress but as a powerful motivator to lead a good, meaningful, and virtuous life.
To help people remember death, artists created paintings, sculptures, and mosaics featuring skulls, skeletons, and other symbols of mortality. Churches displayed memento mori art to encourage viewers to contemplate their mortality, reflect on their lives, and commit themselves to spiritual readiness for the afterlife.

M W "We have to talk seriously". Solid humor, art, imagination and as many possible interpretations as recipients. I'm impressed. Here we can reach for the meaning of the lives we live. How many of us lead the life of a mannequin day by day - artificial, prudent, neuter, senseless - not considering that after death "it's too late for everything."
