Anyway they grow up
Packed inside tins
With little food and opportunities
Sometimes orphans or under poor care
Most of the time by their own
Playing on a generational solidarity
A childhood's brotherhood
Hardships engraved on tiny hands
Touching them you can tell how hard
They have been taking every note about survival
They jump sewage and garbage
Towards what can be a way out
Smiling and playing against frightful background
Their steady will to grow up
Is cheerful light dropped onto downcast ghetto-mates.
