Abi Katon At first glance I saw a torn bird, this can be interpreted as freedom in the chain. Stunning!

Toni Traglia Wonderful colours in this evocative abstract, the dark and the light shades live in fantastic contrast, beautiful hermetic composition with a great painting expressivity, well done Jos.

Jos Letschert Dear friends, followers, art-lovers, colleagues, thanks a lot for all your inspiring, encouraging and motivating observations, comments and compliments. I really do enjoy your responses and appreciate them. It is always a pleasure to see how you interpret my drawings, sculpture or paintings. This one is the first in a series of abstracts. Some of you mentioned the possibility of seeing a bird in it. To be honest, I haven't seen a bird in the composition during the painting. Now I really do. Nevertheless, it is an unintentionally bird. Maybe I have to turn around the painting, like George Baselitz is doing, to bring it back to its original abstract intention. The basic thing is that it is the freedom of the observer to interpret and judge what she or he is seeing, as it is the freedom of the painter to determinate the way of expressing that comes close enough to hers or his original intentions.
