Wilma Eras, Semi-professional photographer
Wilma Eras Interressant.

Toni Traglia, Professional graphic designer
Toni Traglia Amazing fragment, the emptiness works wonderfully, great job between abstract and figurative.

Roland Hoffmann, Amateur photographer
Roland Hoffmann once again I have not words for the intensity of this fragmentary face.

Oleg Ferstein, Art viewer visitor
Oleg Ferstein No one ever does and actually not even able to perceive a face in its permanent and imminent integrity. We are always searching for a tiniest, almost unnoticeable movement of a facial muscle. Just to be sure that we can trust the object. That it is not dead. :) That's why the very genre of portraiture requires this very presence of a movement. And this is an excellent and exemplary work revealing this phenomenon! Bravo, Jos!

Marco Pastori, Amateur photographer
Marco Pastori Astonishing face and expression detail and element
11 November 2017 at 01:46pm
Marco Pastori, Amateur photographer
Marco Pastori The eye is the most important element. So fixed and frozen in its look and expression. It is able to catch the attention in a unique manner.

Wolfgang Stemme Hervorragend...schweigendes Gesicht? So sehe ich die Mehrheit der Deutschen.

Thierry Lair, Citizen of the World
Thierry Lair The choice of the fragment gives my sense more volume to the work and gives to imagine the absent part. Magnificent.
11 November 2017 at 06:50pm
Torsten Richter, General artist

Jos Letschert Toni, thanks a lot. Yes, it is kind of decision all the time, thinking what could be left, what should be there.

Jos Letschert, Professional painter
Jos Letschert Oleg, yes indeed, the human face is full of irregular, alienated unbalanced elements. That makes it so attractive. Mostly I am starting with one eye. The eye is staring at me. I am in advantage, with two eyes. Don't stare to me , I think, or you will not get two eyes from me. So, it was in this case. Mostly I am tearing the drawing apart. The slight instrument of a drawer, if you compare it with the possibilities of a photographer nowadays. Fragments are glued on each other, or they disappear. Finally there is what there is left. In this case not so much. Thanks for your nice words.

Jos Letschert Marco, thanks for your kind words. Yes the eye, it is always the eye, as I told Oleg already. It fascinates me. Glad you like it.
