When and how do you start to create?
at the age of 8 or nine years I got my first camera. First shots were sky and clouds.
Do you went to an art school or self-taught?
I visited several workshops, stay with local communities but most of all I learn from my mistakes.
Do you create as a professional or for your own?
I just take pictures. I don't bother about money. If it sells, thats ok. If not - so what?
How do you learn and work your skill?
several workshops, try-and-error, friends, ...
What do you like in this art, your motivation?
I will not manage to get all the pictures in my head that want to get out of there to paper or canvas if I try to paint. My skills are poor and it takes too much time. So in photography it works quicker, although there are other other obstacles such as gravity :-) Motivation is staying curios and trying out as much as I can.
What do you want to express or arouse in those who watch your work?
I like to show the beauty in people and the things we can create. Although natures miracles are fascinating and I like to make them transparent.
What are your favourite subject(s)?
Preferably women and men, street and scenes, landscapes sometimes. But I even stop for flowers still :-)
How do you prepare a creation or project work?
I charge the batteries, take of the lens cap and shoot. To bee quit honest: I have a little book where I write down ideas. Often I discuss with friends an make plans what subjects might be interesting and wich projects could be set up.
What are your prefered moment(s) when you create?
the first contact with a model. It is still so exciting that often my hands are pretty shaky. Then wehen I look after a few shots what results are and find them encouraging. I think that ist most inspiring.
What are your most representative creations, and why? (links)
Portraits. You can find some in internet. Links are on my homepage www.polifem.de
What are you trying to share via your art?
Inspiration to the the beauty of creation
Who are artists that fascinate or give you inspiration? (links)
Da Vinci, Picasso, Dali, Helmut Newton, Martin Krolop, Marcus Boos, Tedd Preuss ... ...
What equipment and/or technic do you use?
Pentax K-3, several lenses an an OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5 Mark II
How and why your work as changed since you started?
I hopefully get better. Although my eyes get weak my view is sharper.
What does the Internet media give you?
More than I can take!
What are you expecting from Art Limited and/or other members?
Inspiring discussions and a high-end-quality of the exhibition
What was the best advice given to you as an artist?
Go out and do it!
If you couldn’t be an artist, what would you do?
better we don't find out ...
What are your plans in the future?
Work hard to get better, have a lot of fun with other wayward people on the same trip
Do you have anything else to say?
have fun, good light and keep on making the world a more interesting and wonderful place
