Image description
The painting was created based on an old photograph purchased in Bruges. The photograph showed a woman on the coast in Ostend with her son. I wanted to recreate not the image itself, but rather the mood of that day and show through the drawings on textiles that the image belonged to the house. I used home textiles for this project, it's an old piece of pillowcase. Then I made a pencil drawing, which I partially transferred to the canvas, and partially pasted in, like scraps of memories from an old album.
acrylic on paper, graphite, marker on canvas
