Citing a passage from the book of revelation, this is a semi autobiographical piece that captures my frustrations with a section of the art world more concerned with a bottom line than safeguarding, promoting and nurturing new visions. It speaks of my frustrations of an art world unwilling to let go the binds of its self imposed straightjacket of unoriginality, a world more concerned with regurgitating ‘pop art’ than nurturing by affording opportunity. Unwilling to listen to new ways, unable to grasp the creative freedom instinctive to the medium to push boundaries and nourish this cursed world. A world more concerned with a cv than the actual art on display.

‘A wine press I trod alone, and from the peoples, none was with Me; and I trod them with My wrath, and I trampled them with My fury, and their life blood sprinkled on My garments, and all My clothing I soiled’

The wrath is mine, the grapes the doubt from an antiquated section of the art world.

This piece aims wrath to scepticism, squeezing those grapes till they drop their last bead of blood. To the floor it drops, soaked to the earth, to nourish, to engineer, to give life. And from there, from there comes deliverance.

‘eyes have seen the glory of the coming:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on’.

And I leave this message here, not as to attack anybody, but to state my belief that the industry needs to change. I want to bring that change.
