Roberto De Mitri Joseph... :) ... the grain gives a lot of depth and mood to this landscape. and thank you very much for the kind comment! :)

Roberto De Mitri Katia... :) ... like everything in life. the passage of time, the flow of water, the life that flows in front of our eyes... a metaphor of our existential condition. a moment of eternal contemplation...
everything flows. nothing remains unchangeable... :)

Lee Chee Wai like your grain, your metaphor...everything flows. nothing remains unchangeable - the sign of Impermanence

Pierre Pellegrini Sinuosità dai contorni non sempre ben definiti, come nella vita! Grandiosa nella sua semplicità

Claude de Maisonneuve Yes everything flows until the end of our life but our body is still moving, changing in something else and maybe are soul is...
Wonderful and great minimalist picture for meditation.

Roberto De Mitri Mr. Chee Wai... :) ... thank you very much...
for better or for worse, everything flows...
it flows freely or meets obstacles in its path.
I am not the first to use such a metaphor, for sure.
It is an immediate and spontaneous association… image, idea...
and, as you say... nothing remains unchangeable... it is the sign of impermanence, yes... right... and impermanence is tied to the contingency of the moment. to our imperfection. our passions... :)

Roberto De Mitri Mariëtte ... :) ... indeed... I think it's a very beautiful composition, from the graphical point of view, even for this beautiful balance between texture (grain) and softness...
and thank you very much for the kind comment! :)

Roberto De Mitri Pierre... :) ... le sinuosità, le asperità, le repentine svolte, i mutamenti e le deviazioni improvvise... le biforcazioni incognite e gli orizzonti sfumati. La vita è molto più enigmatica, labirintica e impervia di qualunque paesaggio... :)
21 novembre 2016 à 13:38
Oleg Ferstein Outstanding work Roberto! I have totally ignored the title to contemplate and embrace this creation without you interference! :))) For me personaly this is one of the most fantastic works you ever done! Bravo!

Marina ćorić I love it. So poetic... Reminds me of printmaking, drypoint perhaps... It has similar softness. :)
21 novembre 2016 à 16:58
Roberto De Mitri Cristina... :)
e grazie per il gentile commento!

Roberto De Mitri Mike... :) ... indeed, I like to turn the landscape into a representation of a mood. as a metaphysical experience, we can say ... so there is very few of material and physical in this landscape. :)
21 novembre 2016 à 23:42
Roberto De Mitri ... and I'm glad you like, Jørgen ... :) ... thank you for the kind comment! :)
21 novembre 2016 à 23:43
Roberto De Mitri yes, Mrs. Suzan... :) ... the material, the tangible gives way to the essence of the soul. a pure expression of the mood. and thank you very much for the kind comment! :)
21 novembre 2016 à 23:46
Roberto De Mitri Claude... :) ... I think this is a very open image to several interpretations.
everything flows. everything changes... everything is mutation and change. but I do not know what change eventually. If we, in our materiality... or change our soul and we remain equal.
unchangeable in an infinite time. while our passions, our feelings, our anguish pass before our eyes... :)

Roberto De Mitri Oleg... :) ... well ... the titles are often marginal and ornamental. and a few times they complement in an organic and relevant way the picture (I speak for myself, who find the title in five minutes, often... :) )...
I think this is a very open picture. open to various interpretations. and it communicates a different feeling, depending on the sensitivity of those who observe it.
forgetfulness, loneliness, abandonment... melancholy... or maybe serenity? I like LE photography because it gives you a moment of contemplation. a moment of reflection. a time when you are still and everything, every feeling, every passion revolves around you. moving away from you.
and I don't know if "this is one of the most fantastic works", as you say... :) ... but for sure I like it very much! ;)
p.s... a moment of contemplation which, unfortunately, ends when it ends the photograph. and then the passion back! damn... :)

Graeme Wienand Poetry! It connects with the soul. If this were on a gallery wall it's a piece one could gaze into at length like a meditation.

Roberto De Mitri Thank you very much, Mrs. Marina... :) ... yes, I think it's a beautiful picture from a graphic point of view. I'm happy to have found this balance of softness and graininess, giving so thickness and depth to the image.
depth and intensity which, in turn, give a melancholy and dreamy (and yes... poetic :) ) mood to this landscape.
and I'm glad you like... :)

Roberto De Mitri Jared... :) ... "the banks of the River Lethe..." ... I have another picture "dedicated" to the river Lethe, called with this name. a photo of at least three years ago.
This just means that I'm still wandering in the Elysian Fields. or Purgatory ... not a nice thing... :)

Roberto De Mitri Graeme ... :) ... very kind... yes, I think it is a beautiful landscape. a scenario that invites you to a moment of estrangement. an isolated point in space, while troubles and thoughts flow around us, but outside of us.
maybe it's a allegorical portrait of the no substance of our existence?

Roberto De Mitri Alexander... :) ... Harry Potter is nice ah ah ...
well... I do not know if the magic is that of Harry...
Normally, when possible, I like to permeate a landscape of the epic and romantic atmospheres typical of Gustave Doré ... so, we can say, a bit Doré and a bit Potter! :)

Dana Winkelman Roberto. Been waiting on this one because it deserved some time just to enjoy, contemplate, and generally indulge myself in looking. On the technical side it is wonderful. I really like the contrast in shape and form above and below the horizon. The bottom is sensual, like a long slow caress. The top is indistinct, like the uncertainty that could follow that caress. Maybe forever, maybe just this once. All the best. Dana...
22 novembre 2016 à 16:46
Roberto De Mitri Dana... :) ... As always, your comments are accurate and always of great relevance and interest... :) ... and I have very few to add!
On the technical side, I can add I'm very happy of this balance, of shapes and shades and graininess. All these elements help to create a very harmonious effect. the soft shapes of the landscape "marry" the softness of texture...
even if the top is indistinct, it contributes to the mood of the image because it fades gradually. for which does not conflict with the whole composition.
in the end, everything looks very balanced. a dreamlike scenery and almost ecstatic.
and thank you very much for your beautiful comment! :)

Roberto De Mitri Ferenc... :) ... yes, dark poetry... as you say... :)
and as you well said, the title and the previous comments ... the previous words ... they can express a personal judgment that can be partially shared.
what is important is the image, which is enough in itself.
There are images, such as this one, open to multiple interpretations and readings. images that can communicate emotions and feelings, which are different and maybe conflicting...
everyone is free to be guided by his own sensibility ...
