Neptune's Messenger I
Sculpture by Teodora Sarbinska (Bulgaria)

In this work, I meet art and ecology again. I want to provoke thought about how we use our resources, about our footprint on the Earth. I would like my sculpture to warn of the growing crisis of pollution and resource depletion, for it to be both a metaphor for our relationship to nature and an echo of our own anxiety - the awareness of the accumulated damage we are doing to nature.
I use recycled materials as an example of a second chance, of being able to create something beautiful and meaningful out of what we thought was unnecessary. Materials that were once part of our daily lives are transformed into a new form – just as life adapts and transforms itself. Just as the oceans can recover if we give them the chance, so we can turn waste into a message - of sustainability, harmony and new beginnings.

Pliers, a needle and a brush were enough for me :)

I have used completely recycled materials to make the sculpture, because I believe that true freedom is intertwined with environmental responsibility.
