The following project aims at setting examples of digitally constructed imagery which emulate continuous tone printmaking through the emphasis of various forms of washes. The perception of surface quality in printmaking at general is usually associated with tectonic quality as a form of organic value (internal movements). The usual effectiveness of objective reality commonly associated to illustration can be counterbalanced by a more unpredictable visual statement.
The challenge lies ahead in how we can build a more rich vocabulary in terms of heightening past tradition with digital media. Artists are encouraged to submit work where surface tension, atmospheric qualities, light passages, colour nuances, tonal modulation are somehow tied in to the use of washes | | Posting rules | No limits | | Subscription | Public project, anyone can join | | Project RSS feed | | | Facebook | | | Twitter | | | Google |
