Exhibition
New Nordic Photography 2012
Hasselblad Center, Photography, Göteborg, Sweden
Friday June 8, 2012 - Sunday August 12, 2012 - Event ended.
New Nordic Photography 2012 presents a multifaceted picture over the field of contemporary photography in the Nordic region. Present once more is the socially orientated documentary tradition that dominated last year’s exhibition, but this time nuanced to a higher degree by works that deal with photography’s role in science, theoretical reflections on the essence of photography itself and staged photography.
Selection of the participating artists was based on their interesting works. They portray existential questions about humankind in the universe, Europe’s altered geopolitical landscape, staged personal stories and reflections on the theory and history of photography. The project covers various photographic disciplines and together they draw an image of the topics that occupy today’s young photographers.
