Inspired, if that is the right word, by current events and the incredibly inextricably complicated tide of child refugees washing up on America's southern border. That vast sections of the world outside our own personal windows is in agony has been brought home in brutal and dismaying fashion in the past weeks. While leaders dither and politicians squabble for political advantage the earth burns and the sweet blood of little children drains into the ground. How long before our ticket to govern this planet is revoked, how long before humans will realize we are all in this together; and a child sheltering under a bridge in a foreign country with no food in its belly is the same as our own house burning down and our loved ones dispersed without care or hope. This is a large image (40 X 60) backed by wood and finished in a resin/wax medium. Much detail is necessarily lost for which I apologize. It needed to be brought down to 20% pixel capacity to fit even the generous size stipulations of AL. I am finding to my dismay the more detail crammed into an image the more difficult it is to convey digitally on the internet.
