a large composition (40 X 52) finished in encaustic that suffers a little in the digital shrinkage transition. Inspired by the great and sometimes neglected vertically oriented Altdorfer painting of 'Alexander at the Battle of Issus' that helped pry open my imagination in childhood and led me eventually into the appreciation and then the practice of art.
