A self portrait, made during the meteor shower close to the constellation Perseus earlier this August (2012). Far in the distant, I think I heard a Depeche Mode song, or was it the sound of the waves, hmm... While there definitively are shooting stars in this photo, I am not 100% sure the intense trail is a true meteor (satellite, airplane?), It is just so insanely intense!. Canon EOS 5D MkII. LOng exposure. In People, Miscellaneous. Personal Perseus, photography by Jens Ceder. Image #403330

Jens Ceder Oh, I was not tired at all - I merely tried to sit still for the 30 second exposure. And thanks for the fav Volker Birke! And as you may know, since you are a star gazer, the Perseid shower could be seen from north-east (the constellation) to the "straight"-east, and from the horizon to 90 degree (straight up). Maybe portraits with shooting stars are common, but I think not, and especially not this intense - and that is why I would like to know if the strong trail for 100% sure is a meteorite. An airplane often leaves several straight lines from constant lights, and a trail of red and white dots from flashing lights. But I guess I never know for sure. Thanks for looking!
