Five hundred students, artists, performers, teachers and administrators were housed within its walls. It is mostly gone now. The offices are a few rooms in a high rise and students practice in rented studios across town. The last full scale dance performance was many years ago. The glories of socialist art in the high style imported from Russia in the decades after WW II have been discredited and all but forgotten. Countries downsize, cultures re-prioritize but art endures, even if it must be visited through the pensive window of memory. | | Public projects | 1 [ List? ] | | Created | November 27, 2011 at 09:00am | | Published | November 27, 2011 at 03:04pm | | Art Limited seen | Yes | | Seen by members | 325 times | | Seen by visitors | 1698 times | | Favourite | 19 times [ Who? ] | | Social | |
