The Escape, processing by Philippe Gentet. The "Chateau d'if " is part of the landscape of Marseilles.

The château's use as a prison ceased at the end of the 19th century. It can now be reached by boat from Marseille's old port. Its fame as the setting for Dumas' novel has made it a popular tourist destination.

Jared Christopher Martin Strong and brooding, a literary feeling of Dumas and the man in the iron mask, the bird flying free is powerfully dramatic and the pewter and burned copper color phrasings give this a classical engraving.
Quite splendid.
