Concept:

Inspired by 'Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug', one of my alltime favourite Songs, I decided to create a dark Illustration.

Hope, you gonna like it. The Woman bases by the way on a Drawing of mine (it was me posing for this by the Way). The funny Thing is, that I am straight edge and the worst Drug nowadays in my life is Chocolate.

So, what's your perfect Drug?

Nice to know:

A Friend of mine, Justine, is making her own Music, Remixes and Covers as 'Absolute Entity 01'. I found her by Accident online while searching for the NIN clip to this Song.
Just search for and listen to her Cover of 'The Perfect Drug'. Absolutely gorgeous!

Technics:

After picking many References I created some rough Drawings, which I used to illustrate this within Photoshop.
I created the Glass with overlaying Layers (zero Fill, up to 100 Percent Opacity) and added certain Effects to these Layers.
The 'Absinthe' Lable of the Bottle has been reconstructed by using the Path Tool. The Painting of Trent Reznor is a Repainting of a Screencap, hence the only 'Photo-Manipulation' herein.

I used many References ... for the vintage Syringe, the Skeleton of the Vulture (for I have NO IDEA, what such a Skeleton looks like ) and so on. And some custom Brushes I made out of appropiate Photos like Filth, Speckles on Metal, Skin and others. While other Brushes are more 'technical', in this Case my Hair-Brush is one of them, which can't be created out of a Photography (almost any elemental Brush has been created without a Photo, simulating the natural 'Flow', I'd say).

My usual Technic is similar to Airbrush. Masking the single Elements (so I don't need to take that much Care of the Borders later on). Custom Texture Brushes increase the Credibility. The original Size would fit on a Poster.
