#001 - how to create an account on art limited?

Go to the "register" menu and follow the guidelines.

#002 - guidelines on how prepare your picture for art limited

Don't upload pictures that are too small. (for example less than 500 pixels wide in the smallest side),

Take care of your work (tonalities, densities, color renderings or shades of grays, finishing) ,

Avoid signs, prefer a discreet watermark, done with a sans serif font (Helvetica, Swiss, ...),

Don't add wide borders, it restricts the view and Art Limited doesn't propose postcards and posters,

Stay natural in your presentation, avoid borders and the easy effects which are made possible by paint software packages,

Always ask yourself what you would think of your work if you were not its author before publishing.

#003 - how to upload images?

Once loggued, go to the upper right Portfolio menu. An interface proposes you many options for your image. To upload scroll to the bottom and click on the button to select your picture file on your hard disk drive.

Participate to blind comments during 48 hours
Your profile will be hidden during 48 hours for this image and will allow comments without knowing who created it. During this time, the pictures will be hidden from your profile.
Image category
Image category is important, especially for image researchers, your work and Art Limited credibility. An image with a wrong category choice will result of its sorting deletion.
Selling your works
The site proposes different profiles where you can add information to sell an art work.
Art Limited doesn't sell or trade your work at this time. If a visitor see how much and how you sell your work, I will able to contact you and trade directly with you.

#004 - how to add an image into group projects?

There's 2 ways to add an image to group projects:

Add yourself to group projects
You must first choose projects and join them. Once done, go to your image editor, select an image and click on the projects tab.
Simply select the project where you want to add your image.
The project onwer has invited you
The other way is when a project owner invite you to join a project or to add your image into a project, even if you're member of it. You will receive an e-mail with details and instructions to follow.

Pay attention to projects, wrong image insertions will be removed by project owners. Only PREMIUM account can create projects.

#030 - add a portrait on the profile

Add an image to your portfolio (you can make it hidden if you don't want any comments), then select it into your profile settings with the "portrait" listbox.

#099 - using tags and keywords

Tags are like keywords or labels that you should add to your picture to make it easier to find later by others or crawled by web robots and spiders to get more visibility over the web.
You can tag with keywords like "paris fashion moulin rouge eiffel john". Later if you look for pictures of "paris", you can just click that tag and get all pictures that have been tagged with "paris".
You can add tags that belong to personal or popular groups. A number of people have created interesting image collections or serie, with for example "johnexhibitionparis2007" for all pictures that were exhibited by John in Paris during 2007.

#100 - art limited featured pictures

Featured pictures are selected by Art Limited staff. It gives 24 hours account credit to the artist per image to encourage creativity and quality. If a picture is deleted or removed for any reason, the credit won't be suppressed as well. Pictures with too important sign, watermark, borders or frames that don't bring creativity won't be selected.

#101 - pictures selected by members

Pictures are selected by artists members, and must have at least 30 points. The points requested are subject to changes, depending of the comment activity during a specific period, as well when Art Limited wants to improve the level and quality of the site.

#102 - appreciated artists

This automatic random selection is based on PREMIUM artists who have more than 20 creations, accessed the site since at least 15 days and an average amount of 16.67 points for they whole work. This dynamic list is computed each night.

#106 - how to create a journal?

Once identified on the site, go to the TOOLS menu and to select the JOURNAL tab.
A journal is a place in which you can publish your own news, your selections, your preferred artists and pictures, of the news on art, special events etc ...

Inserting HTML code
You can insert simple HTML code, such as bold, italic, tables, font sizes, most advanced ones will be automatically removed.

Using a Reference-Id
A "reference identification" is a marker making possible to add an element of the site easily.
For an image, you will find this reference in its details (noted [ref-pidxxxx]), allowing to copy-paste it in your journal to be replaced later by its thumbnail with its label, author, as well as a direct link to the original version.
You can also add the artist avatar the same way, the reference (noted [ref-mibxxxx]) being in the description of their profile.

#107 - how to delete an account?

Once logged into the site, go to your ACCOUNT menu and follow the simple instructions.
